How to play Bubble Shooter

Choose a round of Bubble Shooter and settle into its rules. Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Check the rule that explains your first action. Look at what changes after your first action.

Original hexagonal matching board and bouncing projectiles.

Build a steady rhythm

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your goal

Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. The example below illustrates a decision.

Step by step

  1. Aim and fire.
  2. Attach bubbles to the cluster.
  3. Groups of three or more equal colours disappear.
  4. Floating groups drop; five misses lower the ceiling.

Controls

Pointer/touch aim, angle controls and Fire. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Use one clear input at a time.

A useful example

Removing one support can drop a larger mixed-colour group below it. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Take a moment to compare.

Watch out for this

Contact with a different colour is not a match. Compare the situation with the worked example. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
